Internet marketing experts from all over the world gather together every year to discuss a variety of subjects and issues. During one such conference the topic was Internet Marketing Strategy. I was amazed to see how little is actually know about the subject. Each expert presented 5 random websites and then everyone tore them apart. The end result was that out of 200 random websites we only found 6 that had a clear internet marketing strategy in place. Surprisingly all 200 had been SEO’d. All were on on either page 1 or page 2 in the search results page of the major search engines for roughly 80% of their keywords.
Not surprising was of the 200 websites analyzed, only the 6 with a clear internet marketing strategy were hugely successfull. The others reported sluggish sales if any. It became very clear to us that we needed to educate people on what an internet marketing strategy is.

As a SEO services company you cannot possibly image what kind of questions we have to answer. Every client wants the same thing, “to be on the first page of Google”. Simple enough right. So they go out in search to either learn how to do it or to hire someone to do it for them.
Most SEO services companies or one man shows really only know the basics. Their tactics are standard and they usually can get the job done. But do they really know what they are doing. In my opinon not really.
SEO just prepares the site for indexing. It does nothing for indexing the site PROPERLY. And there is a huge difference between the two. I will not get into the scope of that because its complexity is enormus and there are some secrets I wish to keep to myself. But I will tell you this. It is the difference between a 3000 Baht per month fee and 10,000+ Baht per month fee.

So much is written on SEO that it can get confusing, here is our guide to the proper approach for SEO - Search Engine Optimization.
Introduction
There are 2 types of search engines: Search Engine Spiders and Search Engine Directories. Each search engine uses unique criteria for “ranking” sites - this “ranking” determines their placement in the search engine results page (SERP). Spider-driven engines use robots to spider sites on the Internet. Robots “crawl” each site and “score” pages based on relevancy. Directories have humans that check the sites - rather than robots. Some engines score the index page while others score individual web pages.
The goal of search engine optimization (SEO) is to get higher rankings. This is done using a two-step process. The first is to use industry information that allows professional optimizers to understand what these robots are looking for. This is a complex process because a Web site’s placement within a spider driven search engine is derived from hundreds of variables such as link popularity, click popularity, keyword density, Web site themes and more. The second way SEO professionals optimize sites is to eliminate/reduce on-site techniques that can impede the search engine spidering process.

This article will focus on the impact of SEO on your website and the three basics of Internet Marketing.
Ok so you don’t need an SEO expert to put you on the first page of the most popular search engines because let us face it there is so much written on the subject that any webmaster can read three four articles and voila they are suddenly experts on the subject.
And I am not kidding you it can be that simple, but the real reality is that it isn’t. Although you can gain substantial knowledge on how to rank your site a little better than most, ranking is not the cure all. In fact it can cause you some problems.

SEO is a trade that exists solely on the internet, and even then it is comprised almost entirely of the hot air of so-called “expert opinion.” Plenty of it blowing around these days as search maintains position as one of the most important marketplaces in the modern business world. Many DIY webmasters will end up searching for blog entries, articles, informational web sites, etc to help get them up to speed. The problem is that in most cases certain key terms are flung around like household names while the people doing the flinging are way out of touch with the average web browser. What some of us don’t realize is that not everyone knows even the basics of SEO.
